I was a Qualified Dental Nurse and Dental Radiographer many moons ago, I left the Industry to take care of my Children and returned in 2016 as a Head Receptionist for MyDentist, after 9 months I was promoted to Practice Manager in Baldock but wanted to find something closer which is one of the reasons I came to Obex and I’m looking forward to growing along with the Company.
Leanne started working with us as a trainee dental nurse in June 2014 and then enrolled on the Diploma in Dental Nursing with the King’s College Hospital Dental Nurse Education and Training Centre (DNETC). She qualified in March 2016 and is now an senior nurse. She is hoping to gain extra qualifications, such as Oral Hygiene, Sutures and Fluoride application, and is keen to progress within the company.
During her time with us, Leanne has been involved with the day-to-day running of the practice and has helped to train other dental nurses. Leanne has also gained experience working in our other practices, so she is now used to working in both quieter practices and larger, more fast-paced ones. She has acquired significant dental knowledge and worked with a wide variety of dentists including our referral centre specialists.
In her spare time, Leanne enjoys horse riding, socialising and keeping fit by attending her local gym.
Carissa is currently studying for an NEBDN diploma in dental nursing and is due to graduate this year, when she hopes to become an senior dental nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Trainee Dental Nurse
Our enthusiastic and caring trainee dental nurse, Klaudia, began her adventure in dentistry in childhood. Her mother was a dental hygienist and ensured she was introduced to dental health care at an early age. Klaudia started to work as a dental nurse eight years ago, following her mother’s example, and graduated in Poland, her home country, in 2013.
Keen to learn all the aspects of dentistry in the UK, as well as improving her language skills, Klaudia decided to start the NEBDN diploma in November 2016 at King’s College London.
Working with different dentists has taught her a variety of approaches to dentistry and helped to develop interests in various subjects, especially periodontics, cosmetic dentistry and dental surgery. Klaudia hopes to become an senior nurse when she qualifies in March 2018.
In her spare time, Klaudia enjoys meeting her friends, reading and, as a qualified biologist, she loves the great outdoors and animals.
Trainee Dental Nurse
Alex started with us at Darrell House in January 2017. She is due to start the NEBDN course in April 2017. Alex has an interest in hygiene and cosmetic dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys socialising and exercising.
Debbie has worked in dentistry for over 28 years. She began her career as a dental nurse and after nine years decided she wanted to move into the administration side of dentistry. Debbie has now been a dental receptionist for 19 years, and has spent 16 of those at Darrell House, which has allowed her to develop great relationships with many of our patients. Debbie joined the current reception team in July 2015 when the new owners acquired the practice and since then Debbie has learnt many new skills in a progressive dental IT system.
In her spare time Debbie enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She is a big football fan and likes nothing more than watching and supporting her sons playing football at the weekend.
