Emergency care

For immediate attention.

Accidentally chipping or breaking a tooth can be especially upsetting. If this does happen, it’s very important to see a dentist immediately, even if your tooth only has a small chip. If you have knocked out a tooth, the more quickly you see a dentist, the more likely it can be put back in place.

Handle a knocked out tooth carefully by the crown (the upper part) and clean it by gently rinsing. If possible, pop the tooth back in its socket and keep it in place by biting down on a clean paper towel for around 15-20 minutes.

Your dentist may be able to file down a chipped tooth and repair with a tooth-coloured filling. If a back molar is broken, it may have to be repaired with a crown. We offer a same day service for all kinds of dental emergencies including toothache, lost or broken crowns or fillings, chips, abscesses and knocked out teeth. We can treat your injuries to ensure rapid healing and help prevent dental problems in the future.
