Bridges

Filling in gaps.

Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth and usually consist of a false tooth located between two crowns, which then slot over the teeth either side of a gap. They can have a hard-wearing precious metal base to which porcelain is fused so the bridge resembles natural teeth.

As they are fixed, bridges can be used to strengthen the adjacent teeth and make chewing easier. If you have a number of missing teeth, bridges can be attached to dental implants.

Good oral hygiene is vital when you have a bridge fitted and it is important to keep the area under the false tooth clean. Regular brushing and flossing will help keep the bridge free from plaque and ensure its longevity.
